Your wedding is one of the most important events in your life and a modern cruise ship is just the place to make your special day a truly romantic and unforgettable experience.
Cruise weddings can take place onboard in a public room on the ship, or on a romantic shore such as a beach or a glacier. Some ships have their own wedding chapel and a legal ceremony can be conducted by the captain to marry you at sea. However, most couples get married in a port or before the cruise begins. That way the guests can come aboard, enjoy the service, and disembark before sailing.
Princess Cruises
Princess Cruises are a prime choice because, of all the lines offering shipboard wedding options, it offers the best combination of features, services and facilities. Princess' Weddings at Sea packages are available on Grand Princess, Golden Princess, Star Princess, Diamond Princess, Sapphire Princess, Caribbean Princess, Crown Princess, Coral Princess and Island Princess, all of which have dedicated wedding chapels.
Norwegian Cruise Line
NCL offers a vast array of options which can turn their basic packages into a full-blown extravaganza. And their newer, designed-for-Freestyle vessels such as Norwegian Sun, Norwegian Spirit, Norwegian Star, Norwegian Dawn, Norwegian Jewel, Pride of America and Pride of Hawaii feature a wide range of restaurants with easily available romantic dining for two.
Carnival Cruise Lines
Carnival Spirit, Pride, Legend and Miracle have onboard chapels, though you can buy Carnival's "Deluxe Romance" package on any of the ships in their fleet.
Royal Caribbean International
Tthe Royal Romance program rivals NCL's in terms of variety, with one extra plus: its coordinators will also arrange shore-side ceremonies at various ports of call. Royal Caribbean is also the first line to offer adventurous shipboard and destination weddings through its sub-program, Explorer Weddings.
P&O Cruises
Ships that offer their Weddings at Sea package (Arcadia, Artemis, Oceana and Oriana) have different clientele. Arcadia and Artemis are child-free (nobody under 16 is allowed onboard), while Oceana and Oriana do allow children.
