Wedding at Sea Hints & Tips

- Book your cruise well in advance. Many ships are already booked for the next 12 to 18 months.
- Cruise ships require specific documentation for passengers to board. Either a birth certificate with driver's license or a valid passport is required, and for a newly married couple, it may be necessary to provide a copy of the marriage license, especially if the bride's documentation does not reflect her married name. These documents should be stowed in carry-on luggage, since checked bags may not be available for several hours.
- Main dining rooms offer very few tables for two, but alternative restaurants are available for a nominal fee and provide a romantic, intimate atmosphere. Reservations may be required and can fill up quickly, so a couple should make those plans as soon as they board the ship.
